Do you remember all of those seminars we had. World class information given out by the most experienced people in our industry. Special thanks to all of them for their time and efforts. I am sure they would welcome some new faces in front of the room at our Charleston convention in September.
Seminar 1 Boat
Pourri
This seminar was a huge success and we look forward to
continuing this segment in the future. We presented short segments of about
15-20 minutes each on various subjects.
1.)Triangulate
your pattern presented by Zack Chapman. Zack demonstrated how to use the
triangulation method in place of standard patterning.
2.) It's in the bag
presented by Julie Sharp. Julie gave some great ideas of how to utilize your
leftover scraps.
3.) Cushion Help presented by Jim & Jeri Perillo. Jim &
Jeri showed us some of the tools they used in their shop along with a couple
of hints to help in the fabrication process.
4.) Hold that cover down presented
by Damon Hoard. Damon gave some great ideas on how to secure a full cover to a
boat.
5.) Easy Cutting presented by LuAnn Parins. LuAnn demonstrated a technique
she uses for cutting clear vinyl.
6.) How to fabricate a hinged cushion presented by Michael
Sasser.A few of his secrets given to us by Mr. Cushion himself!

Seminar 2
Business Round Table Discussion
The Round Table was moderated by Chris Sharp. A special
thanks to Chris for keeping everyone in line and on topic. We discussed a
variety of issues that were all facing with business today. We mainly focused
on business operational & management issues such as credit card payment
& how to handle delinquent accounts.
Seminar 3 Fabrication
& construction of a knee roll seat
Ed Chandler from Covered Concepts showed us all some of his simple but effective tips on creating a knee roll in a seat cushion. It is the most requested options from most customers, and it is one of the most difficult things to do correctly. There is a PDF file below with the notes that Ed was so gracious to share with us.
First off we would like to thank PAMA for participating in
this years show. We would like to thank Michelle Slain from PAMA, Andy Morse
form Ohio Awning Company, Karen O Rourke from Lawrence Fabric & Metal
Structures & David Howell from Atlantic Awning, LLC. We had a great turnout
for this seminar and are very thankful for all the presenters time. The
presenters touched on website & social media, constant contact to promote
& communicate to new & existing customers & getting referrals and
turning them into sales. We rounded this session out with a very informative
panel discussion.

Our popular tools, tips & tricks had a great response
again from our members. We had 15 entries this year and the top 3 were

Parker Boat Tour
We are very grateful to Parker Boats for opening their
impressive facility (225,000sq ft) and giving us a first class tour. We would
specifically like to thank the employees of Parker Boats that led us on the
tour. They were very gracious and informative with all information they shared
with our group. Parker boats is located in Beaufort, NC and has been in
operation since the early 1960?s.

Market Day
As always, market day was a huge success. This is a great
opportunity to meet with our suppliers, ask questions and see all of their new
product offerings for our industry. We are very thankful to all of our
suppliers for sharing their knowledge and expertise to educate all the
fabricators on choosing the right product for the application. We had over 22
exhibitors that displayed all their products.
